Bilbao Termibus station, now Bilbao Intermodal, is the main bus terminal in the city, offering long-distance intercity lines and certain lines of the Bizkaibus provincial public service as well as Renfe Cercanías railway services and the city's metro, facilitating articulation and the connection between them. At the same time, it is the main access point by public transport to the city's airport.

First terminal, inaugured in 1996 and signed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw, consisted of an open structure covered by semi-curved glass and stainless steel canopies. At the end of 2019 it finished his rehabilitation process. This time carried out by the IA + B architecture studio (Iñaki Aurrekoetxea and associates) that managed to completely bury it, leaving a 5,000 m2 outdoor area free.

Bilbao Intermodal station is equipped with geothermal systems that capture the heat of the earth to air-condition its facilities, maintaining a uniform temperature throughout the year and achieving energy savings of around 40%.

The interior is covered by lattices Gradpanel Series CL W 80 Cedar, made up of fixed slats of Red Cedar wood that provide a high aesthetic value, warmth and elegance to the interior while contributing to its comfort.
