96 VPO Bioclimáticas El Cañaveral
The project for 98 social housing units (VPO) on plot T10BC in El Cañaveral, Madrid, incorporates architectural solutions aimed at improving comfort, functionality, and the aesthetic quality of the residential envelope.
Designed by Carlos Rodríguez Alcoba and Javier Rodríguez Alcoba of OA Oficina de Arquitectos, the building was commissioned by the Municipal Housing and Land Company of Madrid (EMVS) and constructed by ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios, S.A.
This project features a louvre system with movable panels in a folding sliding application from the SH Singular Panel family, developed through operable leaves connected vertically to one another and moving horizontally along upper and lower guide rails. This solution allows the regulation of natural light, provides privacy for the dwellings, and gives the façade a dynamic and changing appearance.
The panels, composed of visible frames and leaves hinged together in an accordion-like configuration, incorporate operable fittings and rollers that facilitate opening and movement. The system is clad with EQUITONE Tectiva, a material that reinforces the contemporary character of the complex while providing texture, strength, and durability to the façade.
With this intervention, the building combines protected housing, architectural design, and technical solar control solutions, helping to create more efficient, comfortable residential spaces adapted to current urban needs.
