IES La Cistérniga
New Secondary Education Institute (IESO) of La Cistérniga, located in Valladolid, was designed by UTE Tres arquitectas and VENTURA POU, S.L.P architectural studios.
The project, led by Ana I. Jiménez Jiménez, Mª de la O García García, Marina Jiménez Jiménez and Juan José Ventura Pou, occupies a surface area of 15,000 m2.
With a capacity for 400 potential students, with four lines per course, the institute has a teaching area with sixteen multi-purpose classrooms, ten departments, specific classrooms for music, plastic arts, technology, among others, as well as a coffe zone, gymnasium and outdoor areas with a sports court, parking and garden area.
To control abundant natural light that IES La Cistérniga receives through its 4 façades, the institute is eqquiped with Brise Soleil Series BR 314 adjustable louvres, made of shaped steel sheet and driven in this case by a linear motor. And also has Phalsol Series U 31 profiled aluminium louvres: fixed single-wall louvres in the shape of a "U".
